The event will consist of a Butterfly Themed Fashion Show, Live Entertainment, Give-A-Ways, and Special Tribute.
The Mistress of Ceremony is Ramona Prater who worked as On-Air Radio Personality and News Director of the Steve Harvey Morning Show with Mix 92.3. "Coco" On-Air Radio personality with WJLB FM 98 will provide us with a bit of her Comedy. The Transformation Panel will include Nikki Grandberry, former News Anchor, Out Reach Worker, S.H.A.P.E.; Kalyn Risker, Founder/Executive Director of Sisters Acquiring Financial Empowerment (SAFE); Versandra Kennebrew, Author of Thank God for the Shelter Memoirs of a Homeless Healer and Holistic Life Coach; and Sharon Harris, Director of Media, Lupus Alliance of America Michigan/Indiana. Entertainment will include the Soulful Poet Omari Barksdale, Detroit's Echoverse Grand Slam Champion; The Inspirational Myriah Burton and Isis Dance Troupe Founded by Dee Watkins.
The mission of SHE'S Empowered is to uplift women - mind, body and spirit and to encourage them to live their dreams. We are calling for all Women especially those who may have suffered tremendous odds due to disease, foreclosure, job losses, domestic violence and or other factors are encouraged to attend this event to begin their journey to success. The purpose of the Butterfly Bash is to ignite women with inspiration. May 9 - 15 is Women's Health Week and May is Lupus Awareness month. The butterfly symbolizes the rash that appears on the face of lupus patients, it also signifies HOPE, FREEDOM, GROWTH and TRANSFORMATION. In addition, a portion of proceeds from this event will go to the Latreese Nicole Fagan Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc. (LNFMSF).
